The best Christmas Shortbread - ein Rezept unserer easy Sprachschule Montreal

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (250 grams) butter softened    
  • ½ cup (62 grams) icing sugar
  • ½ cup (62 grams) corn starch
  • ½ teaspoon (2.8 grams) salt
  • 2 cups (260 grams) flour
  • *package of Jolly Ranchers



1. Pre-heat oven to 325° (160° Celsius).
2. Beat butter until creamy. Sift icing sugar, corn starch, salt and flour together, add to creamed butter all at once and mix until all ingredients are incorporated. Then move to a lightly floured flat surface and knead till mixture cracks slightly. Roll out gently to ?" thickness. Cut with Christmas cutters (remove centers with smaller cookie cutter)and place on parchment lined cookie sheets.
3. Crush the candy in a plastic bag with a hammer or mallet and then fill the centers of each cookie with the crushed candy. 
4. Bake in pre-heated oven for approximately 10-12 minutes (don't let them brown!).
Let cool on cookie sheets.
